Plankinton
FUNDRAISER PLANNED FOR POOL IMPROVEMENTS: Representatives of the Plankinton Pool Improvement Committee asked the school board on Feb. 12 if they can use the school's gym for the "first big fundraising event" for pool improvements.
With permission from the board, the pool committee will sponsor a "donkey ball" basketball contest on April 13.
There will also be an auction and meal.

Wessington Springs
SHERIFF HONORED FOR VOLUNTEER WORK: During the annual Pheasant Fest in Sioux Falls, Jerauld County Sheriff Jason Weber was presented the Dedication Award for his volunteer work as a member of Pheasants Forever. The award is given each year to a member who has played an "essential role in the development of a chapter program."
Weber has dedicated volunteer time in recent summers to youth shooting programs and leads the Wessington Springs High School Clay Trap League.

Stickney
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS EVENTS SCHEDULED: The Stickney Knights of Columbus will host bingo from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Community Building in Stickney.
The group will also host a breakfast on March 4 and fish fry on March 23. More details will be released at a later date.
