ALEXANDRIA -- A Hanson County jury on Friday found Kenneth Craig Hauge, 61, of Alexandria, guilty on one count of possession of 1 to 10 pounds of marijuana, a felony that could draw 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Hauge was taken to the Davison County Jail following the verdict.
According to the Hanson County Sheriff's office, sentencing is being postponed pending the outcome of Hauge being charged as a habitual offender, which will require a new trial.
Hauge is the father of Lee Jordan Hauge, of Mitchell, who was sentenced in Davison County Court Tuesday to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to distributing or possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
In court, Lee Hauge said he felt there was nothing morally wrong with marijuana. He has been arrested on a pair of pot-related crimes this year.
