Two people were injured and one person was cited in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Mitchell.

At 12:03 p.m., a 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Matthew Ruby, of Mitchell, was heading east on Elm Street and attempting to cross Sanborn Boulevard. He stopped at the stop sign and proceeded east.

Officer David Sarne of the Mitchell Police Division said a 2010 GMC Terrain was headed south on Sanborn and the vehicles collided at the intersection.

Both drivers sustained non-serious injuries and were transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital.

Ruby was cited for failure to yield after stopping. Both vehicles were totaled, officials said.
