KENNEBEC - A one-vehicle crash near Kennebec sent a 35-year-old Nebraska man to the hospital Tuesday, resulting in minor injuries.

At 11:28 a.m. on Tuesday, Oniel Matos, of Grand Island, Nebraska, was driving westbound on Interstate 90 when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge Ram ambulance model vehicle. The crash occurred 1 mile south of Kennebec near mile marker 235.

After the driver lost control, he went into the median, causing the vehicle to roll over onto its top, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Matos was the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash, and he was wearing a seat belt.

Matos was transported to the Chamberlain hospital. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and charges are pending.
