MOUND CITY, S.D. — One driver is dead after two semis collided two miles south of Mound City on Wednesday afternoon in north-central South Dakota.

A 58-year-old man was driving a southbound 2014 International that struck the oversized load on an oncoming 2004 Peterbilt on Highway 83 around 3:45 p.m. July 17, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said.

The Peterbilt driver was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, authorities said.

Mound City is about 100 miles west of Aberdeen.
