One woman sustained minor injuries Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in southern Mitchell.
According to Sgt. Ryan Erickson of the Mitchell Police Division, the crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Spruce Street and Cabela Drive.
James Bryant, of Vardaman, Mississippi, was driving a Freightliner semi-truck westbound on Spruce Street looking for an entrance into Menard’s, but failed to stop at the red light, Erickson said. Kristin Pavon, of Mitchell, was driving her 2009 Jeep Liberty southbound on Cabela Drive toward Walmart when the 54-year-old trucker T-boned her vehicle at the intersection.
Pavon, 37, sustained minor injuries and received a ride from a friend to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital following the crash, according to Erickson. Bryant was cited for failing to stop at a red light and walked away from the crash with no injuries.
