ABERDEEN (AP) - An Aberdeen man who was shot by a police officer has been released from a Sioux Falls hospital and taken to jail.

Twenty-one-year-old Ehkhu Hser Poe is accused of assaulting four people, including an officer. Court documents allege he was armed with a knife but don't indicate if he actually used the weapon.

Poe was shot Aug. 14. He faces aggravated assault and drug charges. His bond was set earlier at $500,000 cash.

The American News reports Poe is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 1. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
