MENNO -- The high temperature Saturday in Menno peaked at 68 degrees, smashing a record for the day set 82 years ago.
The previous high temperature record for Nov. 29 in Menno, located in southern Hutchinson County, was set at 63 degrees in 1932, according to the National Weather Service. The heat wave did not last for long, though, as the temperature in Menno dropped to 30 degrees by 6:10 p.m. Saturday.
The high temperature forecast for Sunday in Menno was 15 degrees, a difference of 53 degrees from the actual high the day before.
The high temperature Saturday in Mitchell was 52 degrees, well short of the record for the day set at 63 degrees in 1932.
