Two people received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of National Guard Road and South Dakota Highway 37 on Saturday afternoon north of Mitchell.

According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Randall Klock, 71, of Emery, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup pulling a flatbed trailer eastbound on National Guard Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 37.

The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. Klock's truck collided with a 2008 Ford F250 pickup going northbound on Highway 37.

The driver of the F250, a 60-year-old female, was uninjured while the passenger, a 66-year-old male, suffered minor injuries.

Klock also received minor injuries.

The collision led to the blockage of both northbound lanes of traffic as northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane to pass through the intersection. The roadway fully opened about 45 minutes later. Both vehicles were towed.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating, with charges pending.
