Mitchell police are asking for help locating about $4,000 worth of equipment and inventory stolen recently from a local business and construction site.
According to a statement released Friday by the Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, an unknown person or people stole a plate packer from a construction site at 1111 W. Spruce St. between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on April 15. The plate packer is valued at approximately $2,000.
Authorities also said that an unknown person or people stole 10 tires and rims from a business at 601 S. Ohlman St. between 1 p.m. on April 16 and 11 a.m. on April 19. The tires were size 235/80R16 mounted on 16-inch rims. The tires and rims are valued at approximately $2,150.
Anyone with information can call the Mitchell Police Division at 995-8400 or the Crime Stoppers at 996-1700. Anonymous tips can be made by calling the Crime Stoppers phone line, by texting "MITCS" plus a message to 274637, through the Tipsubmit app or at mitchellcrimestoppers.org. A minimum of $250 is offered if a tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest.
Rewards will not be paid if crime tips, leading to an arrest, are not made directly to Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. by telephone, text message or by Web tip.
