LOWER BRULE - A 25-year-old Lower Brule woman was sentenced to six years in prison for assaulting a federal law enforcement officer and conspiring to distribute meth.

Samantha Dolezal was sentenced on March 8 to 54 months in custody and a $1,000 fine for conspiring to distribute meth. She was sentenced to an additional 18 months for assaulting a federal officer, which will run concurrent with the prior sentence.

The meth conviction is a result of a 2015 incident in which she distributed approximately 350 grams of meth on the Crow Creek and Lower Brule reservations, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Then, in August 2016, Dolezal led police on a high speed chase, exceeding speeds of 100 mph. She then ran on foot into a stranger's home, where officers confronted her. Dolezal slammed an officer's arm in a door.
