WINNER - Two people sustained minor injuries after hitting a cow on the road a few miles northwest of Winner.

At approximately 7:30 p.m Monday, a 67-year-old male driving a 1997 GMC Suburban was northbound on 313th Avenue when the vehicle collided with a cow that was in the road, according to South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

The male driver and a 68-year-old female passenger both sustained minor injuries and were transported to a Winner hospital. The cow was not located by law enforcement.

Officials are not releasing the names of the driver and the passenger at this time.

South Dakota Highway Patrol investigated and Winner Ambulance also responded.
