Lightning causes power outage in Mitchell
About 5,000 people lost power Saturday morning in Mitchell when lightning struck a NorthWestern Energy transmission substation in the city.
Tom Glanzer, of NorthWestern Energy, said power went out at 4:26 a.m. due to lightning. By 5:13 a.m., power was restored to 5,100 customers in Mitchell. At 5:18 a.m., 200 Ethan residents had their power restored.
