Wednesday evening's thunderstorm caused power outages in Mount Vernon, White Lake, Stickney, Corsica, Kimball and Chamberlain, according to officials.

Tom Glanzer, with NorthWestern Energy, said that around 7:50 p.m. a lightning strike from the storm knocked out one of the company's transmission lines.

Power was restored in Mount Vernon, White Lake, Stickney, Corsica and Kimball by 8:45 p.m., and by 9:20 p.m., 814 customers in Chamberlain had power, Glanzer said.

As of 9:37 p.m., 731 Chamberlain customers were still in the dark, as NorthWestern crews continued working to find the source and restore full power, according to Glanzer.
