Sioux Falls City Council bans deer feeding
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Feeding deer within the city limits of Sioux Falls will soon be illegal.
The Argus Leader reports that the City Council voted 6-1 on Tuesday to approve an ordinance prohibiting deer feeding in backyards, beginning Nov. 28.
Police Chief Doug Barthel says it's a "critical piece" of an urban deer management plan that also includes the killing of deer by trained officers.
Deer in city limits can cause property damage and vehicle collisions.
