REDFIELD (AP) -- A collision involving three semitrailers blocked traffic for about three hours near the northeastern South Dakota town of Redfield.

The Highway Patrol says a semi hauling a 131-foot-long wind turbine blade collided with another semi and sent that truck crashing into a third at the intersection of U.S. Highways 281 and 212 about midday Wednesday. Trooper Brian Korbel tells the media that all three trucks had significant damage, and one driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The wind turbine blade was on its way from an Aberdeen company to a wind farm being built in Kansas. Damage to the blade was not immediately known.
