A 20-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months on probation and fined $400 after pleading guilty on April 17 to his third domestic assault against one victim in five months.
James Paul Normile will also be required to complete a domestic abuse or anger management program as a condition of his probation, and is not allowed to have contact with the victim of the assaults before a program is completed. He was given credit for the 58 days he has served in jail since his arrest and was released from custody.
Judge Sean O'Brien advised Normile to adhere to the conditions of his probation.
"It doesn't appear you have a whole lot of insight into the problems that seem to get you in trouble," O'Brien said. "Unless you straighten up, you're going to be in the penitentiary."
