DEADWOOD (AP) - Two Washington State men have been sentenced in South Dakota after pleading guilty to possessing more than 10 pounds of marijuana.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports that 24-year-old Benjamin Torve and 25-year-old Alexander Brittain each was sentenced this week to 80 days in jail with credit for 78 days served and ordered to pay $1,500 in fines. They'll be on supervised probation for five years.
Both men are from Everett, Washington. They were arrested last Dec. 21 during a traffic stop in Lawrence County. They reached a plea deal with prosecutors under which some drug charges were dropped.
