YANKTON (AP) - Law enforcement authorities in Yankton say a 14-year-old young man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left another teen dead over the weekend.

The Yankton County Sheriff's Office says the young man was arrested Monday night on charges of first- and second-degree manslaughter. He is being held in juvenile detention.

The teenager in custody was arrested in the death of another 14-year-old young man, who died at a hospital after being shot Saturday in Yankton.

Yankton County Sheriff Jim Vlahakis told the Yankton Daily Press and Dakotan on Tuesday he couldn't elaborate on the investigation other than to say that the suspect and victim were friends.

The name of the teen in custody has not been released because he is not charged as an adult.
