PLANKINTON -- A Plankinton man will have an arraignment hearing in November after being charged with second-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into a bar.

Kody Konechne, 19, was arrested for his involvement in a break-in at the Roadhouse Pub in Plankinton, where about $170 and a partial carton of cigarettes was stolen on Aug. 29, according to court documents. Officers received a call from the bar's owner that his business was broken into when he went home in the afternoon, and a pitchfork was used to pry the door open.

Law enforcement used video surveillance and determined Konechne and another male were seen leaving the bar when the break-in occurred. Court records show that there's an arrest warrant out for Major Ridgeway, of Sioux Falls, as a co-defendant in the case.

Second-degree burglary is a Class 3 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 15 in year in prison and a $30,000 fine. Konechne was also charged with intentional damage to property, a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by 1 year in prison and a $2,000 fine, if convicted.

Konechne's arraignment hearing is scheduled for Nov. 18 at the Aurora County Courthouse.
