Moller, Plastow lead Mitchell cross country teams at ESD meet

ABERDEEN -- The Mitchell High School boys cross country team placed ninth at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet on Saturday.

Brandon Valley earned the team title for both the boys and girls races. It also had the individual medalist in both races, with Britton Elkin (15:54.79) and Mia Wentzy (18:28.02) winning both races.

Lucas Moller paced the Kernel boys with a 41st-place finish in 18 minutes, 49.10 seconds. Nate McCormick (19:28.67) and Max Hart (19:31.87) finished 50th and 51st, respectively.

On the girls side, Adaya Plastow crossed the finish line in 21:32.30 to take 34th place. Kennedy Olsen took 42nd in 22:16.19.

The Kernels compete in the Roger Loecker Invitational on Thursday in Huron.
