Mitchell's Meyerink captures second place in SDGA junior event

Mitchell’s Allison Meyerink recorded a second-place finish at the South Dakota Golf Association’s Junior Tour stop on Monday in Mitchell.

Meyerink shot a 108 to take second-place honors in the 12-13 girls age division at Lakeview Golf Course. She finished second behind first-place finisher Ayla McDonald, of Wentworth, by four strokes.

Mitchell’s Quinn Dannenbring took fourth in the same age division. She carded a 117.

Burke’s Adisyn Indahl claimed fourth place in the 14-15 girls age division. She shot a 103.

Mitchell’s Maddie Childs shot a 66 (nine holes) and took second in the 11&under girls age division.


In boys play, Mitchell’s Max Dailey shot a 78 and finished second in the 16-18 boys division. Garett Everson, of Sioux Falls, edged Dailey by two strokes.

Mitchell’s Max Tupper captured third place in the same division with an 82.

Kimball’s Kaden Tyrell shot an 86 and finished in fifth place.

Mitchell’s event was one of eight in the Southeast Region of the SDGA Junior Tour, with the final two events in North Sioux City (July 17) and Brookings (July 18).
