MCS boys cross country earns Parker Invite title

PARKER -- The Mitchell Christian boys cross country team had a pair of top-five finishers, helping it finish atop the leaderboard at the Parker Invite on Wednesday.

Following the Golden Eagles, McCook Central/Montrose and Platte-Geddes finished in third and fourth, respectively. Menno and Hanson rounded out the top-five teams. Chamberlain earned the girls team title. Platte-Geddes and Hanson took second and third, respectively.

On the boys side, Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder won by breaking the 18-minute mark by finishing in 17 minutes, 54.98 seconds. Platte-Geddes’ Collin Engebretson (18:04.67) finished in second and MCM’s Jordan Schock (18:38.40) finished in third.

Mitchell Christian’s duo of Max Reynen (18:59.63) and Nathanael Anderberg (19:15.94) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Kinsey Evans helped the Chamberlain girls win the team title, as her time of 19:53.12 earned her first place. Teammate Kylah Biggins (21:40.70) took fifth.

Canistota’s Kara Roshone (21:16.19) finished in second, while Platte-Geddes had the third and fourth place finishers in Katie Holter (21:24.73) and Kelly Sondegroth (21:27.38).
