Matt, a native of Fremont, Neb., and a Midland Lutheran College alum, is the staff photographer for the Mitchell Republic. He's a two-time Sports Photographer of the Year for Pictures of the Year International, a former Great Plains Journalism Photographer of the Year and a finalist for several year, A Best of Photojournalism Runner-up Small Market Photographer of the Year and a finalist Sports Photographer of the Year. In 2020 he was awarded the Knight Fellowshipfrom Ohio University where he obtained his master's in Visual Communication Management in the spring of 2021.
