Mary Ann C. Boock (Endres), 64, of Hot Springs, passed away in Rapid City on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
Mary Ann was born on June 30, 1950 in Pierre, SD, where she was adopted by Norbert and Bertha Endres of Dimock, SD. She graduated from Parkston HS in 1968 and went on to Aberdeen Northern State College. After one year, she moved to Mitchell, SD to work at Mitchell Home Savings and Loan. She married William Dennis Boock on April 27, 1973. Dennis and Mary were blessed with two sons, Michael and Brian. The family moved to Rapid City in 1981, where Dennis drove truck and Mary drove a school bus, worked at Common Cents convenient stores, and would eventually drive the bus for the Rapid Transit System. Mary enjoyed meeting and talking to new people. She could start up a conversation with anyone, anytime, and anyplace.
Unfortunately, Mary had to take early medical retirement due to an injury to her foot caused by diabetes. She and Dennis decided to move to Angustora Lake in 2001, where the family had spent most of their summers. Whether it was Lake Mitchell, Sheridan Lake or Angustora Lake; Mary and her family loved the lake and met a lot of wonderful people and created many cherished memories.
Mary was a very generous, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandma, and friend. She loved to make people happy and was always asking about others, even though she had many health concerns of her own. She didn't let that stop her from living life though. Mary continued to try and do whatever she could; including taking the entire family to Disney World in 2011. She constantly put her sons and their family’s needs in front of her own. She was forever helping those in need and giving gifts to everyone in her life.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 41 years, Dennis; her sons, Mike (Kristi) and Brian (Summer); her grandkids, Lydia, Brayden, Corbin, Bria, and Anne.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, November 28 at Kirk Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 29 at Bible Fellowship Church, with Pastor Dick Nickel officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 2 at Black Hills National Cemetery.
