ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Structure 18-120-153 Replacement & Approach Grading Project will be received by the Davison County Auditor's Office, located at the Davison County Court House 1st Floor, 200 East 4th Avenue, Mitchell, SD 57301, until 5:00pm local time on Monday, August 3, 2020. All bids received at the specified location by the specified time indicated above will be publicly opened and read on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 @ 9:30am at the North Offices Building, 1420 North Main Street, Mitchell, SD 57301 during the Davison County Commission Meeting. No walk-in bids will be allowed.
The Project generally involves the following work:
Replacement of existing single span concrete bridge with timber abutments that failed during the September 2019 flood event. Work includes but is not limited to: removal of remains of existing structure, traffic control, excavation, contractor furnished borrow excavation including the filling of large scour hole at structure location, construction of box culvert, riprap placement, grading, asphalt concrete composite surfacing, and erosion control.
Bids shall be on a unit price basis, and shall include all applicable taxes, as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Civil Design Inc., Attn: Chris Brozik, PE, 609 Main Avenue South, Brookings, SD, 57006, (605) 696-3200, cbrozik@civildes.com. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Bidding Documents may be viewed online by registering with the Issuing Office. Following registration, complete sets of Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the Issuing Office's website as "zipped" portable document format (PDF) files. The cost of printed Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office will depend on the number and size of the Drawings and Project Manual, applicable taxes, and shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. Cost of Bidding Documents and shipping is non-refundable. Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder's delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of the Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office.
