Aberdeen out-hit Mitchell, Gavin Soukup kept them off the scoreboard in a 10-0 win Tuesday in 16-and-under baseball play.
Soukup surrendered five hits and a walk and struck out seven in five innings of work on the mound. Peyton Mandel, Carter Miller and Peyton Schroder also knocked in two runs apiece for Mitchell (1-1), while Lukas Bennett also had an RBI.
Jaiden Smith went 2-for-3 for Aberdeen, which had three pitchers combine to allow six earned runs on four hits and seven walks, while striking out seven.
Mitchell Black 11, Brookings 7
BROOKINGS -- Mitchell Black scored four runs in the final two innings to take down Brookings in teener baseball action Tuesday.
Denzel Kelley broke a 7-7 tie in the sixth inning with an RBI single and Landon Soulek followed with one of his own for Mitchell (3-1), before Parker Mandel tacked on an RBI double.
Soulek finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Kelley and Mandel each had two hits and an RBI. Mason Herman also added an RBI in the seventh.
Kelley also did not allow a run or a hit in three innings on the mound, striking out five in the process. Tye Hernandez and Hudson Borgan also combined to allow seven earned runs on five hits and six walks.
