Coming off its second winning season in the past three years, the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team was picked ninth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference preseason poll.
Northwestern, which finished tied for second last season, garnered 10 of the 12 first-place votes to top the preseason poll. Midland was picked second, though defending-champion Dordt and Midland each received one first-place vote.
Jamestown rounded out the top five, followed by Morningside, Doane and Concordia. College of St. Mary, Briar Cliff and Mount Marty were each ranked below DWU.
The Tigers finished 17-14 last season, though went just 4-11 in GPAC play. They open the season on August 16 at the Keiser tournament in West Palm Beach, Florida.
