STURGIS -- Kenneth and Mardella Maakestad, Sturgis, formerly of this area, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Best Western/Caddy's Bar and Grill, Sturgis.
They were married on Dec. 24, 1944.
The event is hosted by their seven children.
