The Mitchell Friend De Coup Show Choir finished as first runner-up in the Power City Classic competition last weekend in Keokuk, Iowa.

The show choir competed against 10 other schools from Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri in the 4A/5A division. The FDC received awards for best costumes, best show design, people’s choice as well as the second place trophy at the Power City Classic daytime awards.

The Mitchell show choir was one of six choirs that qualified for the evening competition, where it received the first runner up award for best choreography.

Choralation, the varsity choir from Valley High School in West De Moines, Iowa, won the grand champion award at the competition.

The Mitchell Friend De Coup Show Choir competes next on Feb. 22 at the Davenport Great River Show Choir Invitational in Davenport, Iowa. They will also perform March 7 at the Sioux City East Sing All About It in Sioux City, Iowa and on March 14 at the Wheaton Warrenville South Choral Classic in Wheaton, Illinois.
