HURON — The first of the South Dakota State Fair's grandstand attractions for the 2020 fair were announced on Monday, with the Charlie Daniels Band and Marshall Tucker Band set to make a stop on Friday, Sept. 4.

“The combination of the Charlie Daniels Band and the Marshall Tucker Band is definitely going to be a show to see,” said Peggy Besch, South Dakota State Fairgrounds manager. “We’re looking forward to both of these legends taking the stage at the 2020 State Fair on the same night.”

Both bands have made Southern rock their staples, while also becoming frequent tour partners. They will also play in Deadwood on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel.

Tickets are $47 for standing room areas, while grandstand reserved seating is $37. A pre-sale on VIP tickets will begin May 18, followed by backrest holders on June 8 and June 11 for Friends of the Fair. General public ticket sales will begin June 15.

The fair will run from Sept. 3-7. The fair's theme is "Perfect Vision of Fun" in 2020.
