Two movie premieres and the movies' producers are scheduled to appear in Mitchell within the next two weeks.

A live-action version of "The Little Mermaid" will play for one week at Luxury 5 Cinemas, and the following week, comedy-drama the "Farmer of the Year," will play at the same theater.

These will be both movies' premieres in South Dakota.

Armando Gutierrez, who stars in and is a producer of "The Little Mermaid," will be at the Mitchell Aquatic Center at 5:30 p.m. Friday and will be at the theater at 6:30 p.m. He is expected to introduce the movie at that time and answer questions afterward.

On Aug. 31, Vince O'Connell and Kathy Swanson, the producers of the "Farmer of the Year" - part of which was filmed at the Corn Palace - will be at a public reception in the art gallery on the second floor of the Corn Palace at 5:30 p.m. They will then go to Luxury 5 Cinemas at 6:30 p.m., introduce their movie and hold a question and answer session afterward.

In addition to the Mitchell events, premieres of the two movies will be shown at the Huron Luxury Cinemas in Huron and the Dells Theatre in Dell Rapids. All three theaters are owned by the Logan Luxury Theatres Corporation.
