Mitchell School District calls off classes for Wednesday

St. John Paul II also cancels classes for Wednesday, Mitchell Tech to be closed Wednesday, Thursday

MITCHELL — A large winter storm has forced the Mitchell School District to call off classes for Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The move was announced Tuesday afternoon by school administration.

St. John Paul II Elementary School will also be closed Wednesday, Feb. 22.

In addition to elementary, middle school and high school classes being called off at the Mitchell School District for Wednesday, Mitchell Technical College also announced that it will be closed both Wednesday, Feb. 22 and Thursday, Feb. 23 due to weather.

Meterologists with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls have predicted heavy snow, winds and falling temperatures from Tuesday through Thursday throughout South Dakota.
