Student debaters from Mitchell High School took part recently in three competitions, bringing home several top finishes in a variety of categories.

Following are the results from those competitions.

Monday, November 7th - Roosevelt Novice Tournament

  • Talon Fenski and Noah Larson went 3-1 in Public Forum, receiving an award

Friday, November 11th - Washington Warrior Tournament at Sioux Falls Washington

  • Shawn Boehmer - 6th in Domestic Extemp
  • Shawn Boehmer - 5th in Varsity Oratory
  • Alexis Korzan - 1st in Varsity Informative Speaking
  • Alexis Korzan - 3rd in Domestic Extemp
  • Jordyn Wilson - 5th in Novice Extemp
  • Ashlyn Reynolds - 3rd in Novice Extemp
  • Kate Ahlers - 2nd in Novice Extemp
  • Kate Ahlers - 1st in Novice Oratory

Saturday, November 12th Roosevelt Sweetstakes at Roosevelt High School


  • Greyce Northrup and Jordyn Wilson were semi-finalists in Public Forum Debate and walked away with 3rd place
  • Alexis Korzan was 1st in Student Congress
  • Julia Miller was 3rd in Student Congress

The next tournament is this weekend in Mitchell, where Mitchell High School is hosting the 30th Annual McGovern Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
