MITCHELL — The Mitchell Board of Education will get an update on the proposed new high school building when it convenes for its next meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. Monday, May 23, in Room 10 at the Mitchell Career & Technical Education Academy.

The proposed new high school, which has been in the planning stages for several years, would replace the current building on Capital Street, which was built in 1962 and is beginning to show its age, according to officials with the Mitchell School District.

The Mitchell Republic will livestream the meeting in the video box below, beginning at approximately 4:55 p.m.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Mitchell Republic." Often, the "Mitchell Republic" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
