YANKTON -- Both Dakota Wesleyan University cross country teams placed ninth at the Great Plains Athletic Conference meet on Saturday at Fox Run Golf Course.
Dordt (Iowa) claimed both team championships. It had the top-two finishers among the women’s division, with Taylor Anema (18:50.24) and Eden Winslow (18:51.33) placing first and second, respectively. Doane’s Shawn Kiptoo (25:44.75) won the men’s race.
Wyatt Baldauf had the best finish for the DWU men, taking 44th place in 29:15.34. Justin Sorensen (29:32.21) placed 48th. Plankinton native Devin Rihanek (30:14.88) and Hunter Shanks (30:17.94) earned 56th and 57th place, respectively.
For the women, Tessa Kilber (21:30.06) paced the Tigers in 47th place. Morgan Oedekoven (21:47.20) notched 51st place and Delanie Larson (22:12.37) took 57th.
