In 1942 Lillian married John Kortan in O'Neill, NE. Shortly thereafter, John entered the U.S. Army and Lillian returned to her family's farm. She also loved playing cards, getting together with relatives, and going into town for the Saturday night dances. She was a lifelong member of the ZCBJ (Bohemian Fraternal Organization) and the united Methodist Church in Geddes. She remained at home until 2012, when she moved to the Platte Care Center where she died on October 23, 2013 at the age of 93.
