US Supreme Court says SD can charge online sales tax

Judy K. Joachim, age 60, of Mitchell, SD died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Will Funeral Chapel with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel.

Judy Kay Joachim, daughter of Mervin and Violet (Auch) Smith was born June 21, 1953 in Chamberlain, SD, at an early age she moved to Mitchell with her family. She graduated from Mitchell Senior High School in 1971. She worked at Sears and Robuck, Mitchell Coca Cola Plant and lastly was a housewife. She was united in marriage on June 30th, 1973 to John Joachim and they were divorced.

Judy enjoyed spending time with family and friends; she also enjoyed reading and watching soap operas. She was a big fan and loved watching her granddaughter grow up and play sports. Even though Judy had health problems she was always there for everyone, she was a loving, caring and dependable mother, grandma, sister and aunt; she was willing to help with whatever needed to be done.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter Jennifer (Bret) Christianson; granddaughter Tehra Christianson of Brookings, SD; mother Violet (Smitty) Smith of Mitchell, SD; sisters Deb (Nick) Brink and Barb DeVaughan of Mitchell, SD; brother John (Penny) Smith of Gillette, WY; uncle Dwane Auch of Des Moines, IA. She sadly leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews, Darren (Ronda) DeVaughan, Cory (Stephanie) Smith, Toby Smith, Brandy (Chad) Bell, Wyatt (Amy) Smith, Katie (Joey) Ziegler and 10 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Mervin Smith and nephew Eric Brink along with numerous aunts and uncles.

The family is grateful to all Judys friends who have helped and supported her through the years.
