Thanks to the generosity of a local HVAC company, Jim Nelson will have a new furnace to keep his home warm this winter.
Paulson Air Heating and Cooling, KMIT and Kool 98.3, teamed up to donate a new Coleman furnace Thursday night at The Back 40, where they announced the winner out of the three finalists who were nominated. Representatives of Paulson’s Air Heating and Cooling were tasked with selecting the winner, as they considered each of the nominees.
The nominees included Tera Moody, of Letcher; Jim Nelson, of Lake Andes; and Valerie Johnson, of Mitchell. All three nominees were introduced Thursday night and opened an envelope to find out who gets to take home the furnace.
Nelson was moved to tears when he opened his envelope to find out he was selected as the winner of the furnace giveaway, thanking Paulson's Air Heating and Cooling for the special moment.
“It was such a tough decision this year, because all three of you are tremendous people who deserve this furnace,” said Scott Paulson, president of Paulson’s Air Heating and Cooling. “Thank you for all that you do.”
