The Klock Werks Pre-Sturgis Party is returning to Mitchell’s Main Street and the Corn Palace on Aug. 1.

The event will be held in front of the Mitchell landmark from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.

In 2018 — which was the first year the party was on Main Street — motorcycle daredevil Cole Freeman jumped his 850-pound Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle nearly 100 feet (99 feet and 11 inches, to be exact.)

Freeman intends to return this year, with a new performance planned. Live music is planned near the Corn Palace from Shelby Lee Lowe and local favorite Dustin Evans.

Local car enthusiasts are encouraged to come to the party with downtown parking available between Fourth and Fifth avenues. The block of Fifth Avenue, east of Main, will be reserved for the UTV Werks Show and Shine.

The beverage garden will be on Sixth Avenue, therapists from Integrated Massage Solutions will be on hand, along with food vendors.

Mayor Bob Everson will present special keys to the city, and a proclamation will be read.
