MITCHELL — Water was shut off on Monday, August 22 from 8 am to 3 pm due to the City of Mitchell replacing water main valves on 2nd and Main, 4th and Main and 5th and Main.

While the two downtown area projects have closed a stretch of Main Street along Fifth Avenue where the carnival begins, city officials say the road construction projects are "vital and have to be done."

Here are 20 photos from the construction that plagues Mitchell's Main Street.
