PHOTOS: Firefighters knock down vehicle fire near Mitchell's Vern Eide

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined by officials.

MITCHELL — One vehicle was destroyed Monday after a vehicle at a Mitchell car lot caught on fire.

Shortly before noon Monday, fire crews in Mitchell were called to a parking lot on the southeast corner of First Avenue and Kimball Street for a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, the engine block of a black pickup truck was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews were able to quickly contain and extinguish the blaze. The vehicle's engine block, as well as the interior were completely destroyed.

No injuries were reported, according to Mitchell Fire Marshal Shannon Sandoval. Other vehicles in the lot did not appear to sustain any damage from the blaze.

A representative from Vern Eide was not immediately available to confirm if the company owned the vehicle or to provide an estimated value of the loss.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
