Mitchell Food Pantry giveaway planned for April 21

Distribution part of Farmers to Families Food Box Program

The Mitchell Food Pantry will hold a food box giveaway Wednesday, April 21 in the city parking lot between Graham Tire and TMA. The giveaway is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The giveaway will consist of a box of produce, dairy, meat and milk for those in need. There will be a limit of one food box per household, and two maximum per vehicle.

Those participating are asked to enter on Lawler Street and exit on Main Street. The parking lot will be closed until 5 p.m.

The giveaway is part of the Farmers to Families Food Box Program, in which the United States Department of Agriculture is partnering with farmers, specialty crop producers, food processors and distributors and non-profit organizations to ensure that all Americans have access to fresh and wholesome food they need during the COVID-19 national emergency.
