MITCHELL — Continuing his family tradition, Beau Lanners and his family have been decorating his house for the holiday season since 2015, the year they moved in. The newest addition to the yard is a 20-foot inflatable Santa Claus that cannot be missed.

It takes the Lanners family about three to four hours to set up their decorations, and the holiday spirit has spread to the surrounding houses.

"It's a bit of an unspoken battle," Beau said with a laugh when asked about the large amount of inflatables in his neighbor's yard. "We tend to put ours up first, then his wife gets on him to put theirs up, too."
