The 2021 Corn Palace Festival will feature performances by acts Whiskey Myers, Johnny Rivers and BlackHawk, it was announced on Tuesday.

The festival will be held Aug. 26-28, and will feature the return of indoor concerts after COVID-19 forced what performances could be held outdoors. Tickets for all shows will go on sale June 1 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased online at or at the Corn Palace box office.

Myers and BlackHawk were on the 2020 lineup, prior to the impact of COVID-19 forcing show postponements.

The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26. Headlining the 2021 festival’s opening night will be Johnny Rivers. Rivers helped usher in the Go Go Generation with 17 gold records and 29 chart hits and multiple Grammys. Opening for Rivers is local oldies rockers The Something New Band.

The second night of the festival will begin at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27 and will feature the southern rock sounds of Whiskey Myers. Whiskey Meyers set their roots in the Red Dirt Country scene of east Texas and continue to play to larger and wilder crowds with their evolving southern country rock sound. The final show of the festival begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. The featured group will be BlackHawk and their unique sense of harmony with their voices, songs and fans. Their unique harmony has sold over 7 million albums, scored some of the most distinctive country radio hits of the 90s and still draws tens of thousands of fans to their electrifying live performances. The high energy music of The Powell Brothers will open the evening. Taylor and Blake Powell along with drummer Mike Bishop Smith completes the trio of country/rock musicians that are sure to set the mood for a great night of country music.
