MITCHELL — Shine Design Detailing, owned by a dynamic duo, Manny and Anne Guevara, just want to give back to the community.
For the Guevaras that means donating 10% of profits from every detail done by their detailing company to Mitchell area schools in the hopes of relieving students' overdue lunch balances.
Anne Guevara shared via Facebook post that, for the next three weeks, Shine Design will be donating $17 per detail to help cover lunch fees at Mitchell High School, Mitchell Middle School and Longfellow Elementary.
The Guevaras are hoping to raise enough money in the coming weeks to help fund lunches for Mitchell’s public schools, simply because they’re grateful for the support they’ve received from the community in the past few years.
“Small businesses in this community are amazing,” Anne Guevara said. “We get support from them, we give our support to them — we’re always trying to find a way to say thank you to the community.”

“We’re both very excited to see how this affects the community,” Anne Guevara said.
Manny Guevara says neither are strangers to the philanthropic world, as he sponsors Longfellow Elementary School and John Paul II Elementary during the holidays to provide kids with presents.
Shine Design Detailing donated time and effort toward community events such as the Helping with Horsepower and a giveaway at the annual Corn Palace Festival that allowed the chance for kids to win tickets for carnival rides and caramel apples.
But, for Manny, this project is a little more than just saying thank you.
“I know what it’s like growing up, not having anything,” said the Mitchell High alumni and former Marine. “I grew up in California and my mom had three jobs. ... That’s why I like doing stuff like this.”

Shine Design will continue the charity event throughout the remainder of September and possibly into October, depending on how well it does.
According to their Facebook post, during the event they will be offering a "Full Size Platinum Detail" for any size vehicle for $170.
