Callie Mueller, Samantha Ford earn top Corn Palace Stampede royalty crowns

The 2021 Miss Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo queen contest winners were crowned on Thursday night to kick off the 50th annual event at the Horseman's Sports Arena.

Callie Mueller, of Watertown, was named Miss Corn Palace Stampede for 2021 while Samantha Ford, of Mitchell, was named the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo Junior Queen.

Ford defeated Kallie Volk and Avery Miller for the junior honor while Mueller was unopposed.

The junior queen division is open for girls generally between the ages of 13-17, while the senior division is open to girls 18-23.

Category winners for junior queen contest included Ford for horsemanship, with Miller first runner-up and Volk second runner-up. Miller won for the photogenic category.

Mueller swept the senior queen categories for horsemanship and photogenics. Avery Miller was named overall Miss Congeniality.
