Sad to have missed out on prom this year from the pandemic?
Well, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at Dakota Wesleyan University, The Daily Republic will be offering free prom photos for high school students.
That’s right, all high school students who want to dress up as a group, couple or individually can show up to have “what-would-have-been” prom 2020 photos taken by The Daily Republic’s Matt Gade. The photos will later be placed on a disc and given to the students as a memory for missing out on their prom. We’re encouraging all Mitchell students to show up, and any students who attend regional schools can participate as well.
Additionally, The Daily Republic is asking for local businesses to sponsor this project. To have your business named as a sponsor, contact The Daily Republic’s Lorie Hansen at 605-990-6382. Each sponsor will be placed together and thanked on a print page in the May 13 edition of the newspaper after all of the photos are uploaded on to our website. Our local students need our support!
People are encouraged to park in the large lot on the east side of campus next to the Dakota Discovery Museum. Students can meet by the main entrance to McGovern Library.
Students and individuals participating are reminded to practice social distancing guidelines.
