DENR recognizes Davison, Hanson Rural Water systems
PIERRE — The South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources announced recently that the Davison Rural Water and Hanson Rural Water systems and operations specialists have each been recognized with the Secretary's Award for Drinking Water Excellence.
The system's operations specialists include manager Dan Schroeder, Doug Oster, Terrance Haag, Kevin Porth, and Jacob Jones. This marks the 18th year in a row they've received the honor.
To qualify for the Secretary's Award for Drinking Water Excellence, public water systems and their system operations specialists had to meet all of the following requirements for 10 consecutive years or more: compliance monitoring, and reporting; drinking water standards, certification requirements.
The Davison Rural Water System serves areas in Aurora, Davison, Douglas and Sanborn counties and serves the communities of Letcher, Loomis and Mount Vernon with individual or bulk service. The Hanson Rural Water System serves areas in Davison, Hanson, McCook and Miner counties. It serves the communities of Alexandria, Bridgewater, Emery, Epiphany, Ethan, Farmer, Fulton and Spencer with individual or bulk service.
