Chamberlain girls capture Bon Homme Invitational title

TYNDALL -- The Chamberlain girls cross country team placed three runners in the top eight on its way to capturing the Bon Homme Invitational on Monday. The Cubs finished with nine points, while Hartington-Newcastle (Nebraska) was second with 34 points.

Allison Hough was the second-place finisher for the Cubs. She covered the distance in 19-minutes and :55 seconds, while Gayville-Volin’s Madison Fairley won with a time of 19:24.

Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans took third in 20:59, while teammate Ella Phillips took eighth in 22:10.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s Isabella Brouwer finished in fourth place with a time of 21:11. Freeman’s Jada Koerner took fifth in 21:19.

On the boys side, Chamberlain claimed second place with 31 points. Hartington-Newcastle won the boys team title with 12 points. Hartington-New Castle’s Carson Noecker won the individual race in 16:45. Bon Homme’s Nate Hall (18:05) and Chamberlain’s Dominic Santiago (18:13) finished second and third, respectively. Freeman Academy/Marion’s Titus Roesler took fourth place in 18:15.
